Tuesday: 6 miles
Thursday: 7 miles

Gorgeous day for a run!! The kids were off of school today, it was so nice to have them home! We played Trouble, Anna got in trouble, played catch with Jake, I got hit with the baseball in the shin, ouch, played video games, and discovered that Katelyn has a bottom tooth that came in. Have no idea when that happened. She is 6 months old today, and yesterday she sat all by herself, got up on all fours and rocked back and forth like she was going to crawl, and we discovered the tooth.

More to say, but too busy to blog...

Long Runs, R.I.P. shoes

Last week was a week of long runs as I was getting ready for the half-marathon that I will no longer be running in due to the fact that they closed registration early because they had 2000 runners signed up.  I'm a bit disappointed, but hey, I saved $55 (that I will be spending on some new clothes because I have lost all 50 pounds). I put on a pair of my jeans the other day, and they fell right off me. I'm not even kidding, they actually came right down to my ankles. I was actually a little bummed as these are my favorite pair of jeans. Anyways, last Saturday I ran 9 miles, 2 days later I ran 10 miles, then I finished out the week with a 6 miler.  Today was another perfect running day and would've liked to do 10 miles but only did 6.  Yesterday, Anna kicked Jake's football into the fire (on accident), and Jake had a spaz-attack.  The poor boy, you would've thought someone important to him died.  The football burned on impact and turned all black, Anna was crying because she felt bad, Jake was crying because it "was my favorite football, and I have had it for years", which isn't a lie, Phil bought it for him 4 years ago and it was the perfect size for a 7-year old's hand.  So they went today in search of another one. Katelyn's hanging out on the floor, playing with shoes, and Wii controllers, and books, who needs baby toys anyways?

Dear Nike,
Why did you have to discontinue the running shoes I have been wearing for the past 2 years? As a runner I appreciate the fact that once I find a good pair of shoes that I love, I just buy the same style (in a different color of course). Do you really think I have time to research what kind of shoe is right for the mileage I run, and the fact that I overpronate?  Running shoes aren't like cars, I can't take them out for a test-run and bring them back if I don't like them.  Yes, I can run around the store like a dork, which I did, to see if they might be comfortable, but come on.  As it turns out, I will most likely continue to buy your shoes, because I think I like the pair I bought, although I won't know for certain until I dirty them up with my sweat, dirt, and sometimes even my blood.
Sincerely, Runnermom-Jen

Mobile Blogging

Just set up mobile blogging. And to think, I was mad at Phil for buying me a blackberry! It's the most useful device next to a microwave. Just a test to see if it really works.

National Dog Walking Day

Haven't had a chance to blog much.  I can't even remember my runs from last week, but I know I ran! So we'll just go with this week.
Monday: 7.5 miles,
Tuesday: 6 miles
Wednesday: 5.5 miles
I swear, on Tuesday every dog owner was out walking their dogs, polluting my nice, peaceful, unpopulated trail.  I wouldn't mind the dogs, really, if their owners knew how to work a leash. A leash does no good if you have one that is 20 feet long.  Sorry, but not everyone is a dog lover.  No I don't like your dog to run beside me.  No I don't appreciate your dog to jump up on me while I'm running.  You may think it's being friendly, I just find it quite annoying.  I'm sure your dogs can smell the fear and dislike emanating from me, but does it really have to stop and bark at me? Mind your own business, dogs.  Anyways, after I passed the whole population of dogs in Mankato, my run was quite enjoyable.

Today, I had to make it a quick run so Jacob and Phil could go to the store.  He told me to hurry up before I left, not in a mean way, he just wanted to be home for dinner, but telling me to hurry up on my run is like telling Beano not to eat anything sweet for a whole day!  I really tried to make it a quick run, but the weather was so perfect, I just couldn't stop.  Oh, and drinking Coke before your run isn't such a great plan, but I needed a quick pick-me up. Bad idea.  I'll stick to water next time.
