Perfect Day For A Run...

There aren't many days like this one.  Perfect blue sky, without a cloud in it, warm sun with a cool breeze, no humidity, perfect for a long run.  I think I could have run for hours. I ran for 1 hour and 5 minutes; 6.5 miles. It felt awesome, just what I needed.

Camden said to me yesterday, "I love Katelyn.  Can we keep her?"  Goofy boy.
Anna got her kindergarten physical today, had to get 4 shots and she hardly shed a tear. She's so tough.
The kids all made me birthday cards, they're so sweet. Jacob's said I was the best mom ever, and he hoped I had an awesome birthday. So cute. I might just be the luckiest mom in the world....

My Running Buddy

Yesterday I had running buddy, her name is Anna. She rode her bike the entire length of my 4.5 mile run. We stopped for some water breaks, and I gave her a push from time to time, but she did awesome! Her little legs were peddling as fast as her mouth was moving. She chitter-chatted the entire time! It was a great bonding time for us, as we don't seem to get enough of them.  I hope in the years to come she truly will be my running buddy, even if she rides her bike each time. She was so proud of herself for keeping up, and when we got home she thanked me for taking her. What a sweet girl, it should be ME thanking my kids for wanting to hang out with me! They are the best gift any mom could ask for, and I hope never to take them for granted.

Running log: Wednesday: 5 miles
                    Thursday: 4.5 miles
                    Friday: off

Jacob asked Phil the other day this: "When I play for the Twins, will I stay overnight in hotels, and ride on the plane with them?". So cute, the kid just LOVES baseball.
Katelyn is 4 mos. old tomorrow and she started eating solids yesterday. The kids were very excited to see her eat something other than what is attached to me. Anna, of course, was in charge of what color spoon she would use for which meal, so Anna.
Beano is into calling people names, such as "idiot, stupid, hate!", and "jerk, dumb, young lady!". Sometimes I have to sneak off so he doesn't see me laughing at him, (after I put him in his naughty corner, of course).

I'm off...

Mankato half-marathon??

So I decided to track my running progress in this blog as well as any upcoming races, etc.  I'm debating about running in the Mankato half-marathon in October. I'd really love to, however, it all depends on Katelyn, (as my husband said, "the world revolves around Katelyn and her feeding schedule right now).  But what's a nursing mother to do?? I don't want to wean her too early, and I want us both to be ready to be done nursing. This is my last baby and I want to savor every moment of her babyhood! I would really love to run another half though. This would consist of running farther than I have been running lately. I currently am running about 5 miles a day, and I would need to be running 6-7 daily with long runs of 9 or 10, which is totally doable (without the nursing). Oh well, I still have a bit of time to decide.

So, here are a few things the kids have done while i have been nursing Katelyn: 1.Yesterday, Anna took a plastic Target bag, went into the bathroom, filled the bag up with water, and flooded the floor. Where does she come up with this stuff?  2. Anna and Beano soak their feet in the bathroom sink, again flooded floor. 3. Get into mama's lipstick and paint their face.  Hmmm, maybe I should start locking the bathroom door while feeding the baby.  I'm sure there will be more to follow.

Running log: Sunday: 5.5 miles
                    Monday: off
                    Tuesday: 5 miles

Titles are overrated.

I guess you could say I'm copying my little sister by giving blogging a try. I don't really care if anyone reads it or not, but I think my background is cute, and it's a way of documenting the things that are happening in my life, big or small. I have a journal, but writing in it every day isn't very practical, and who knows, this may not be very practical either, but I'll give it a whirl!

So, a few things you should know about me: I have an awesome husband (who loves me when I'm crabby), I have 4 awesome kids (who sometimes get into a bit of trouble, but who doesn't), I love, love, love to run (I actually crave it when I miss a day, only other runners can understand this), and I work outside the home (wish I didn't have to, but life is expensive!).  My favorite song right now is "Break Me Out" by The Rescues, my favorite show is Grey's Anatomy, my favorite thing to do with Jacob (7) is to play catch, my favorite thing to do with Anna (5) is play beauty salon(which consists of painting our nails, soaking our feet, and doing our hair), my favorite thing to do with Camden (4) is play the Wii-yes I let my kids play video games, shocking!, and my favorite thing to do with Katelyn (4 mos.) is hold her in my lap and rock her-because they grow so fast and don't want to be held forever.

Just some random thoughts: I'm NOT looking forward to school starting, Jacob will be in 2nd grade, and Anna will be in Kindergarten.  I'm sure I'll bawl like a baby on the first day, just like I've done for the past two years and probably will until my last one graduates. I'm so glad the weather is nice again and I can go outside without dripping sweat everywhere (I'm kind of a sweaty person anyways). And I'm thinking how much fun I had this last weekend at my brother and sister-in-laws house celebrating birthdays together. We don't see each other as often as we should, but it's like no time has passed at all, we all just pick up right where we left off!! Thanks Nate and Sheri for the laughs!!

And that's all for now!! Anna is "starving and can not wait another minute for lunch!!"  Jacob and  Beano "need to go outside, you're taking forever!!" And do I hear Katelyn crying through the monitor? Nap time is over!!
